Student Spotlight
Graham Ward
In the bustling hallways of Forest Lake Christian School, there's a freshman who stands out not just for his enthusiasm but also for his unique experiences and interests. Graham Ward, a young student with a zest for life, has already made a mark in his first year in high school.
Graham's summer was highlighted by an adventurous backpacking trip with his youth group. The week-long journey through the rugged terrain of the Gorge was not just a physical challenge but also an opportunity to connect with nature. Encounters with wildlife, including the necessity to hoist backpacks up trees to keep them safe from bears, added an element of excitement to the trip.
At Forest Lake, what Graham cherishes most is the community. He finds the atmosphere super fun and welcoming, with minimal school drama, making it a comfortable and enjoyable place to learn and grow. This sense of community is a cornerstone of his experience at the school.
Outside the classroom, Graham has a deep affection for nature and animals, particularly chickens. His favorite, a silky chicken named Josephine, stands out for her sweet personality and adorable appearance. This love for nature extends to his hobbies as well; he is an avid skateboarder, often exploring trails and roads, embracing the freedom and thrill it offers.
Family plays a central role in Graham's life. He speaks fondly of his parents and mentions the close bond he shares with his grandparents, who live on the same property. This close-knit family environment provides him with a strong support system.
Athletics is another area where Graham and his sister shine. He participates in cross-country, while his sister is into mountain biking, showcasing a family passion for outdoor sports.
Before joining Forest Lake Christian School, Graham attended a charter school. He appreciates the more serious approach to education and the friendlier environment at his new school. His favorite class so far is geography, taught by Mr. Wippermann, whom he describes as easy-going and an excellent teacher.
A highlight of Graham's recent experiences was receiving a PlayStation 5 as a gift, which he enjoys with his sister. Their favorite game, "Hogwarts Legacy," offers them a magical escape into a world of fantasy and adventure.
School trips have been a significant part of Graham's experience, with the freshmen/sophomore retreat being his favorite. Despite being a smaller group, the retreat was filled with fellowship, fun, and lasting memories. One particular activity that stood out was a unique game called “Bible Smugglers”, adding a touch of mystery and excitement to the event.
Graham Ward's journey at Forest Lake Christian School is just beginning, but he's already embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm and a positive spirit. Whether it's in the classroom, on the trails, or with his family and chickens, Graham is making the most of his high school experience.

International Students
We were thrilled to welcome the group of international students from Korea to Forest Lake Christian School. Their visit kicked off with an exciting journey through some of California's most iconic locations, including
San Francisco's vibrant streets, the serene beauty of Pacific Grove, the wonders of Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the picturesque views at Pebble Beach. It's been a joy having them here with us, exploring and learning together. A special thank you goes out to all the host families who opened their homes and hearts to these students, making their experience even more memorable. Your generosity and hospitality have truly made a difference.
39 Steps HS Theater Production
Our high school theater students recently put on a spectacular performance of "39 Steps," captivating the audience with their talent and hard work. The show was brilliantly executed, filled with moments that had the crowd roaring with laughter, and we were delighted to see such a fantastic turnout. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Wippermann for his exceptional leadership and dedication in guiding our students to deliver such an outstanding performance. We're also excited to announce that our next production will be the musical "Matilda," which will feature a collaboration between our middle and high school students.
